What is the most important thing an Apple product user tends to do?
Did you say brag about the products?
Okay.
But I meant besides this obligatory thing…
He is always conscious about the security of his iPhone, iMac, iPad, iWatch or anything that carries that precious Adam's fruit logo.
Every user somehow adopts the Eagle's view to keep their products safe from the prying eyes.
It surely gives one a kind of paranoia feeling.
But the question occurs that why is there so much hullabaloo over the safety of the Apple products?
It is just because there are fewer security applications for them.
The good ones present are either very expensive or are not much user-friendly.
By the way it's never that the people need to secure some nuclear data or secrets of Mars on their Macs; but still one never wants to keep the security of their documents, images, music files, notes etc. on the stake.
For this purpose, there is a great digital key and lock where you can secure the data without any hesitation.
Beatunes 5 0 3 – organize your music collection. The app is called Hider 2, which is the result of the creation of my favorite company, MacPaw.
Known for creating applications like CleanMyMac and Gemini, MacPaw in a way is the most popular software making company.
Hider 2 is an application with an in-built interface that unifies and streamlines the process of hiding and encrypting files.
Style is the thing that Hider 2 carries.
Designed in a beautiful way, it does what it has been meant to do in a much efficient way.
The second you install it; I bet you'll fall in Love with it.
The way it welcomes the user, he ought to get attracted to it to explore more.
Upon launching the Hider, you are asked to create a Password for your vault.
The Vault is a hidden folder that contains all the encrypted files.
Here you get an option of saving your password in OS X Keychain that can also be backed up in Preferences.

The vault is initially empty where you just have to do a simple thing to import things - Drag and Drop the files.
If you're not into easy work, then click the + button to add files.
It is present at the lower left corner of the vault pane.
Along the left, there is a 2-column view with the source list and on the right is the pane that lists all the files.
Just dragging the files encrypts them and hides them from the public view.
You can toggle whether you want to keep it on public or visible view.
The ‘visible' option copies the item back to its original location.
In case of multiple files also, you can choose which you want to keep visible and which one to hide from the public.
There is a pull-down menu given at the bottom right-hand side to give an update to Hide/Unhide All, Hide/Unhide the selected ones or Remove the selected items.
For doing the quick access, there is an icon present at the top of the screen.
You can also secure Notes in the Hider's vault.
Traffic cone logo media player. Any notes including the phone numbers, bank statements, personal thoughts etc. can be put up in it.
The only problem is that unlike files, the notes can't be exported.
They can only be copy/paste into a separate document.
Don't think that the hidden files are hard to access.
There are several features of this app.
Because of its AES-256 encryption standard, it is THE tool for the Mac users.
Its Safe-themed login screen is the best feature.
The wheel of the safe rotates when you put the password giving a feeling of unlocking a physical safe.
It is kind of interesting, unique and also fun.
A copy of every file, whether encrypted or decrypted is always maintained by Hider so one need not worry about the data being lost in the way.
A file can't be opened from within Hider. It must
There are also some keyboard shortcuts provided. Command+Control+H is pressed to hide the visible files whereas Command+Control+L is pressed to lock Hider 2.
However, the app doesn't make the files deleted securely. The original files are deleted in a way that you've moved them to the Trash. This can make your data recovered by the agitators if they want. But, this is not a major problem.
Although the app allows the users to use the single vault, still the encrypted files can be organized into multiple groups.
The menu bar item, which is present in the Preferences, is turned off by default. It can be changed anytime.
Available at $19.95, MacPaw's Hider 2 is in all an elegant, compact encoding tool for keeping the files cent percent confidential from any person.
It works incredibly smoothly.
A must have tool for an average user to encrypt files, Hider 2 gets thumbs up for being a convenient one from design to function.
